It is so hot before you run you sweat.
Fanning himself a man and his wife walk
Holding hands. He sings and she doesn’t with
Just as much force. It’s dawn. The lighter it
Gets the more the runners start to come. The
Man shooting baskets soon is many all
Caught up shouting and jumping for the ball.
Other arrivals lift their arms and bend
Touching their toes before they start to run
Calling to each other words I don’t know.
All I can say’s “Good morning” and “Hello.”
I can’t read one word that’s on the wall, none.
There are more words than anyone can learn.
Most stories go untold as the world turns.
