13 Summer Sonnets

For many years I spent parts of my summers in the South Mountain in Pennsylvania where I was raised and my parents still lived. There was a pond and hiking trails all around and I’d often trek into the woods to sit on a rock somewhere to read and sometimes write a poem.

These sonnets were written between 2003 and 2017. I hope that you enjoy them. The drawings are by Akram. The idea is to have 360 sonnets written like the degrees of a circle or the year with its seasons. I am working toward 270 as we speak. You can click on the sonnets below to enlarge them.
