Ed Friedman and Bob Rosenthal have been hosting poetry readings at Bowery Poetry for the last three years. They feature poets who have lived and taken part in readings and events in the East Village during the seminal 1970s and 1980s, and the 1990s too. For many, if not all of these poets, the Poetry Project at Saint Mark’s Church has been an important part of their lives.
The Bowery Poetry Reading Series begins in January and ends in March. It is always well attended and I think it is historic and one of the most exciting and important readings around. Everyone should check it out.
On January the 13th, the series kicked off with Cliff Fyman, Todd Colby, and Maggie Dubris reading recent work. You can hear them all in the Vimeo below. Enjoy.
