I have been writing sonnets since 2003.
The goal has been to write three hundred and sixty of them.
Three hundred and sixty degrees are in a circle.
There is something eternal about a circle.
And I think of the four seasons that make up a year.
I am up to two hundred and seventy sonnets as we speak.
That means there are one hundred and fifty more to go.
As long as I’m alive this circle of sonnets remains doable.
I’ve begun to make postcards too.
I love working with my husband Akram’s drawings.
A book of sonnets with the drawings would be charming, and even better, I think they would be fun.
I hope you enjoy the thirteen that follow.
